Not really a years ago, Microsoft announced that it would no longer pre-install Paint 3D on Windows 10, moving the app towards the Microsoft Store.
For a lot of users, this can be a decision that simply is sensible, especially because Paint 3D has never reached the recognition of its classic brother, the original Paint app, that is still utilized by plenty of people available for quick edits for their photos.
Eliminating Paint 3D continues to be possible nowadays, but however, even though you may this, the context menu entry that is supposed to let you edit photos with this particular app is still there. In other words, you are able to remove the app but can't remove the context menu entry.
If Paint 3D is already gone and also you right-click a picture and click on the "Edit with Paint 3D" option, Windows 10 automatically show you the Microsoft Store to set up the app.
Big change on the radar
But because discovered recently by WL, Microsoft has already confirmed it's working on this, and also the latest Windows 10 preview build removes the context menu entry when Paint 3D is gone. The change should go love all devices running Windows 10 within the next feature update for the OS.
There's an opportunity the following feature update also becomes the first ones to no more preinstall Paint 3D automatically, though Microsoft could hold back until the autumn update for the whole thing.
"3D Viewer and Paint 3D will no longer be preinstalled on clean installs from the latest Insider Preview builds. Both apps will still be available in the Store and can remain on your device after an OS update. So, should you upgraded your PC like normal, you shouldn't see these apps changed inside your app list," the company said not really a years ago.
The following Windows 10 feature update is version 21H1 and is projected to land in April or May.
